about me

Originally from Georgia, I have lived in Portland, Oregon for over 20 years. Within a few years of moving to Portland, I began working as a bookkeeper and accounting assistant while pursuing an art career. This work peaked my interest in financial analysis and learning how to interpret what the numbers tell us. To learn more, I went back to school for accounting and to pursue my CPA license. After graduating from Portland State University with a post-baccalaureate degree in accounting, I worked in audit and accounting at public accounting firms for over 8 years, most recently as an audit manager overseeing compilations, reviews, and audits of non-profits, manufacturers, distributors, construction companies, public service providers, and homeowners associations, among others.
I am currently licensed as a CPA in the state of Oregon, and am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). I am also a Quickbooks Pro Advisor and Gusto People Advisory Certified, and serve as the Board Treasurer for Outside the Frame (otfpdx.org).
When I'm not crunching numbers, I'm usually spending time with my 2 cats, gardening, working on creative projects (such as making art or home improvements), and cheering on the Portland Timbers and Thorns.
